For New Years I wanted to make something special, so I decided to make a cute statement headband. It went really well with the vintage look I was going for. It can be a great headband for a night out on the town with a cute dress and your favorite heels or a cute little headband paired with some jeans and a cardigan. It is super simple to make and only requires a few supplies.
Materials:
*Pearls
* Jewelry wire
* Tulle
* Elastic
*Hot glue gun
Instructions:
Take your piece of wire and string all the pearls onto your wire. Form the beaded wire into a bow by creating two loops and wrapping the wire ends in the middle. Here is a great photo tutorial to look at from NBeads HERE.
For the headband take a piece of tulle and cut it so that it is long enough to wrap around your head just past your ears. Take your elastic and glue the ends of the tulle and the elastic together. Hot glue the bow on to your headband and now you have a very cute and simple hair accessory.

Christmas Party 2013
The most wonderful time of the year has come and gone and it was full of holiday cheer! I hosted a christmas party for all of my friends over here in Korea and it was a success. Here is what my party looked like:
Stocking Garland:
For the stocking garland you will need red and white felt, string, hot glue gun, and clothes pins. Use a stocking template (I found one on google images) and trace it onto the felt. Cut out your red and white pieces and glue them together. Hang them around the house with some twine and clothes pins. Cute and simple!
Fa La La Banner:
For the Fa La La sign you will need white card stock paper, glue and glitter. Cut out the letters Fa La La on the white card stock paper. Decorate with gold glitter for that cute holiday look.
DIY Christmas Bows:
For the bows I used gold and red metallic wrapping paper. I found this great tutorial by Smile Monsters for step by step directions on how to create these simple bow. Check it out HERE.
Doily Christmas Trees:
I was inspired to make these after seeing a picture on Pinterest HERE. I added gold glitter to mine for a little more pizzaz.
Cardboard Christmas Trees:
HGTV has great Christmas craft ideas. I used this one HERE for the cardboard Christmas tree centerpieces. I painted mine using red, white and gold acrylic paint. It was simple to make and turned out great!
For the food I made a Christmas Tree Vegetable Platter and Chocolate Chip Banana Bread.
Advent Calendar:
Here is an advent calendar I made last year. It is made out of felt. To start, select a large piece of felt (or attach a different color to the top and bottom like I did using glue) for the base. Cut out 25 Christmas trees and glue them to the base. Number and glue 25 clothes pins to the Christmas trees. For the stars I used yellow card stock paper and put down bible verses on the back for each day leading up to Christmas.
Doily Stars (or snowflakes):
I found this really simple and cute tutorial for doily stars from The Happy Home Blog. You can find the tutorial to make them HERE.
DIY Felt Ornaments:
For the felt ornaments I used red and white felt, white sting, and stuffing. To make them first trace and cut out 2 circles. Sew them and stuff them with pillow stuffing. Create as many as you would like to make a beautiful tree.
DIY Ribbon Bow Ornaments:
I really like the look of Christmas bows so I used the same tutorial that I used for my paper bows above. Instead of using paper replace it with ribbon and add string to make a fun and cute ornament for your tree.
Gold Glittery Pinecones:
To make a fun and cute centerpiece for your Christmas table add a little glitz to some pinecones. I painted half of them with gold paint and have of them with glitter. To make just paint or glitter the tips of the scales and let them dry.
A party isn't a party without a photo booth! For this background I just used wrapping paper and added a few paper christmas bows to the top. Super simple and fun!
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. Until next time. Happy Crafting!
